Dear
Friends,
It is truly wonderful that a few dedicated individuals with
the intention of helping sick children have formed an organisation
to provide assistance and much needed medical treatment. Sri
Lanka is a developing country with more than one quarter of
the population living below the poverty line. Everyday, we
come across appeals for help in Sri Lanka media.
The DOT Charitable Foundation was started to give these children
the care they deserve!
Pain suffered by children faced in this situation and their
families cannot be quantified and no words can describe it.
Living with illness or injury can cause enormous strain in
the lives of children and their families. The pain, loneliness
and isolation that sick children feel dominates their lives,
and they often miss out on normal experiences that healthy
children take for granted.
At present, the process involves selection of children in
need that appears in newspaper articles published in Sri Lanka
and directly contacting them to obtain necessary documents
(Medical Certificates, etc.) required to assess the cases
and prioritise the needs. After the vetting, the foundation’s
executive committee will decide the required support.
Our fund raising events and activities embrace and encourage
the participation of our family, friends, and community. All
our members volunteer their time for this cause.
Thank you for visiting our website.
